Foundation of God's Acts

According to Imam al-Ghazali in his Jerusalem Epistle, the third pillar of Iman is God’s acts. This is done through learning ten foundations:

1. Human actions are created by God.
2. Human actions are acquired by people.
3. Human actions are willed by God.
4. God creates and originates freely through His grace.
5. God is able to charge people with more than they could bear.
6. God is able to cause the innocent to suffer.
7. God is not obliged to do what is most beneficial.
8. Only the law can impose obligations.
9. It is rationally possible for God to send prophets.
10. The prophethood of Muḥammad is affirmed and supported by miracles.
